The EPIC program has been developed with the purpose of allowing new artists and designers to consolidate skills gained through previous experience or academic processes, by developing projects in which the traditional forms of fine arts are combined with new mediums of expression and areas of focus. Based on artist-in-residence programs, the EPIC program rests on three pillars that permit participants to develop an art project, strengthen or learn new techniques of artistic expression, and receive professional development guided by teachers and working professionals through workshops that let them apply this knowledge to projects during or after their participation in the program.
The program has a total duration of thirty (30) weeks. During each academic period, participants will be able to choose their activities according to the different areas offered by the program.
CLASSIC PILLARS OF ART
In this module, drawing, painting, and sculpture are strengthened by means of workshops and professional meetings in which the foundations of art throughout history are connected with concepts, theory, and practice.
The term contemporary being understood as what is happening at the current moment, this module will be centered on mediums of expression such as sound, light, video, digital mediums, and their various applications in art projects.
THE BUSINESS OF ART
This module gives participants the tools they need to succeed in the art market: pricing, portfolios, curation, working with galleries, funding, grants, biennials, competitions, public relations, and promotion.
